Recruitment is the establishment of a partnership between the program and the player. I must be comfortable that the player will give everything he has to the program and our staff will do the same both on and off the court. My recruit pitch is centered around honesty and transparency, that is being up front and truthful about what it takes to develop both a player and a person along with the hard work and commitment it requires. I will recruit Self driven Student Athletes who are committed to academics & basketball.

Mission Statement
The goal for our team is to have built a culture that is centered around FLAT DAD: Friendship, Love, Accessibility, Trust that is earned through Dedication, Accountability, Discipline. Establishing this culture and learning these life skills will ensure the young people I work with on a daily basis will be successful beyond the sport of basketball and throughout life.
RECRUITING CHAIN OF COMMAND
◇ ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENTS
◇ BORDERING STATES
◇ PREP SCHOOLS
◇ JUNIOR COLLEGES
◇ UNITED STATES
◇ INTERNATIONALLY (Canada & Europe)
RECRUIT CHARACTERISTICS
"KING OF THE JUNGLE MENTALITY"
◇ Must fit the university/college no matter the talent. They have to be happy without basketball.
◇ Must be Self-Driven
◇ Must be Committed to Education
◇ Must be Committed to Basketball
BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER
THE PLAN

POWER
Strength x Speed = Explosiveness. Ideally our lifting program is designed to build dynamic basketball players. I would like to have an emphasis on explosive movements in basketball and at the same time work all the major muscle groups so as to encourage the development of strong, balanced athleticism in our players.

FLEXIBILITY
Increased flexibility is critical in developing greater speed and agility as well as the prevention of injury.

SPEED
Running speed can be improved through strength training and more importantly, technique improvement.

AGILITY
The ability to change direction while maintaining balance, body control, and speed is critical in the game of basketball.

METABOLIC CONDITIONING
Going into the season it is important to have an endurance base established. It would be great to perform pre-season sprint intervals in game-like movements and under game-like timing.

NUTRITION
The lifestyle and eating habits of the athlete should not work against and offset tremendous time and effort that is put into physical conditioning. (which should probably be A.)
WOULD LOVE TO LET OUR DEFENSE CREATE OUR OFFENSE, PLAY FAST, CREATE EXCITEMENT FROM THREE POINT MAKES AND HIGH FLYING DUNKS!
HOWEVER: IF WE DONT HAVE THE PERSONNEL TO DO THAT I WILL ADJUST IN ORDER TO GIVE US THE BEST POSSIBLE CHANCE TO WIN.
PHILOSOPHY
OFFENsE & DEFENSE
Offensive Philosophy:
1. Create great spacing
2. Minimize dribbling 8
3. Use both sides of the floor
Defensive Philosophy:
1.Communicate
2. Adjust

OFFENSIVE CONCEPTS

4 Pillars of Offense:
◇ Less is More
◇ Great Spacing
◇ Great Shots Over Good Shots
◇ Screeners are Scorers
Preference:
I would prefer to run a two guard front with a 4 out 1 in look. This look is very similar to the John Belien offense of the Michigan Wolverines.
We will also have a variety of sets to get our best offensive players the best offensive shots.
(Offensive complexity is the enemy of execution!)
DEFENSIVE CONCEPTS

4 Pillars of Defense:
◇ Competing vs. Going Hard
◇ Toughness: Box out & Rebound
◇ Passion: Bring JUICE
◇ Unity: Communicate & Adjust
Preference:
would prefer to run multiple Man to Man looks for the majority of the game. While providing defensive change ups and applying defensive pressure in dead ball situations.
(Defense will be the back bone of our on court identity!)
STYLE OF PLAY

Toughness and Defense will be the foundation of our program!
◇ Defense travels, we will be physical, fast and athletic.
◇ Offensive skill is important. All players must be able to do 2 of the 3 skill sets really well: dribble, pass, or shoot.
